A donation of $25 or more to SKEF will allow you to recognize the teacher, teacher teams (middle school teams), administrator and/or other school personnel of your choice.

SKEF will then present recognized individuals with a certificate acknowledging that a donation has been made in their honor. You can recognize more than one staff member and for each honoree/team a $25 donation should be made.

WHO WE ARE.

South Kingstown Education Foundation (SKEF) was established in 2003 to support educational initiatives in the South Kingstown Public Schools. Since inception, SKEF has raised over $100,000 thanks to the generous support of area residents and businesses, and an initial matching grant from The Rhode Island Foundation.

Every year, SKEF awards grants to parents, teachers, students, and community members to support innovative educational projects in our schools. Last June 2010, SKEF awarded over $20,000 in grants; and since SKEF’s inception in 2003, over 80 grants have been awarded.

To submit a grant funding proposal, please review our grant criteria and return your completed application package on the date indicated. Grant awards are announced in June of each year.

WHAT KINDS OF PROGRAMS WE FUND.

South Kingstown Education Foundation supports programs to advance the following goals:

* to support the breadth of experience available to students
* to extend support for students in core program beyond the school day
* to provide "venture capital" for initiatives.
